In May 2025, the Federal Statistical Office published figures that clearly illustrate the background of the W-RETURN project. 49 percent of employed women in Germany work part-time, compared to 12 percent of men.
The difference is even greater among parents of young children: 40 percent of mothers with a child under three years old were employed, compared to 89 percent of fathers.
In our workshops, we therefore discussed not only job applications, but also working hours, support, and the appropriate scope of employment.
